Yeah well, it's not like they had Amiga in Japan, also that statement could be valid for many other computer or arcade games out there, but if they didn't get ported there would have been a lot of people who couldn't enjoy them. You should just be happy Nintendo cared enough to port it, because of that there are many fans overseas.

Man this game runs like shit on SNES hardware, it really belongs on an Amiga. I'm guessing they just made sprites out of the vector graphics.
