@cobrastarshiphct wow i have 500GB in mine, where do you find a 2Terabyte 2.5 HDD? I am currently transferring data from laptop to my external HDD to restore to the ps3. The new HDD is in but worried about the everything on the drive will be deleted part. will it really delete? games music, and video etc. is what is being restored. I would like everything else on the PS3 to stay just the way it is.

you forgot to mention that you will require to use a FAT32 external hard drive for backing up. Or you can re-format your current NTFS external to FAT32, using a free FAT32 formatting program

I've got the same question, my old Ps3 broke so i took the HD but when i try to put it in the new one i have to format it. How can i get my game saves off of it...?

@nya13 No. They dont allow it cos someone could buy loads of psn games then distribute them everywhere

No they are saved on sony's server not on your PS3. If you went to a friend's house and put in your e-mail they would show up on thier system as well

no you wont lose them because they save to your e-mail address. So you may have to redownload them but that shouldn't be a big deal. You wont lose any of your achievements either.

I thought it was hard the way that some people were saying it to me but after watching this video it very very easy. Also Cobra is there a limit on how big of a 2.5" HDD you can put in? I see some videos that difference ammounts.

No you can put in any size you want as long as its a 2.5 HDD it shouldn't matter. I know some people who have a couple terabytes in their system.
