--------
Clyde J. Caires died in Vietnam on March 3, 1967; a mere 9 days after making his first combat jump in Operation Junction City.
This video is based upon a true story, and my college history term paper written in 1994. I cried like a big 'ole baby while preparing the slides and text... as I looked through pictures, read through newspaper articles, letters sent to and from home, death certificates and documents from the U.S. Government. I never knew Uncle Clyde because he lived before my time. But I swear, I felt the pain my grandparents, father, and his brothers felt.
Clyde lived his dream. It's just sad that it was sacrificial and short-lived.
I want to carry on his memory by sharing his story. My kids and future generations to come need to know Uncle Clyde; they need to know the experience.
I feel like this is the first time in a long time that I've done something truly meaningful which will affect many people, in the present and future.
Please, share this video... Let's share his story and keep his memory alive!
