Sample video of the 25x optical zoom, 50x digital zoom, 2000x digital zoom, and tele-macro functions on the Sony DCR-HC62. A tripod was used for all these tests.

What render settings did you use? my videos with this camcorder uploaded to youtube always turn out looking like crap.

i have this same camera i bought like a year ago, unfortunately it doesnt have a mic input, i have another sony camera and its more than 12 years old from the video 8 family, it has a better picture and mic input and manual focus and the ZOOM slider is much smoother than the dcr hc62 model.... i dont know why sony and....the world has changed that much.... notice>> iam talking the same price range which is around $300

I bought the HCR62 because it has smooth interval recording (Sony's name for time lapse recording) and that was one of the features I really wanted. Other than that I'm not sure what the differences are.
