Jimi was clearly obsessed with his legacy and having earned extra spending cash through touring he wanted to do the bands third album right and at times went a little overboard (doing 47 takes on this song caused the manager Chas Chandler to quit, and Noel Redding the bassist to walk out). However, with results like this and across the spectrum of Electric Ladyland who can argue with the greatest guitarist of all-time.

this song truely showcases his excellent song writing ability, and he made a guitar sound like it spoke to you!!!!!!!!!!! 40 years gone and he still is the best!!!!!!!!! Hendrix all day fuck the music played on the radio nowadays
