@KONTRAone Yep. Four-wheel independent suspension. They're built on a platform very similar to the Toyota Celica, their once-famous rally car. The ST185 (5th Generation Celica GT4) was an absolute monster in the WRC.
In fact, the Camry started out in Japan as the Toyota Celica Camry, a sedan version of the Celica... The Supra, for that matter, started out as a sub-type of the Celica, and you can own a street-legal, smoggable Toyota Celica Supra here in the states.

@cooldaddyslick You can't remove the shock absorbers from a Camry and leave the springs in... It's a MacPherson strut design, coil is retained by the strut. I'd guess struts that are just worn the fuck out.
You can't argue this, I own two Gen 2 Camrys.
