  • lol some of these comments are funny, power has nothing to do with it, both bikes have enough power to spin the tires, so it comes down to weight

  • Can-am lost lol

  • @phrodejo your stupid arctic cat weighs a ton more than can am thats why that happened and thats why they do terrible on trails or mud.

  • i wish i could afford an expensive quad...then again i wish i could afford to buy new tires too right now im just trying to get by on low grade weed hah my z 400 is nice though lol

  • @WKHalford only know of one person that owns an AC 500 and its my g/f's cousin..the thing is actually pretty big...my foreman 500 was a few inches shy of it and had a lift and 27's on it

  • @tjwsnt2007 You are correct, Can Am is 669 pounds dry. But the AC 1000i GT (not the heavier LTD with winch, bumpers, etc.) is 772 pounds dry. When you are talking about ATVs in this weight range, you are talking about a significant percentage of weight increase. It's not like like they are 5000 pound trucks where a 103 pound weight difference really makes no difference. They don't make the AC 500 anymore, so I tried to look up "past models" on the AC website and couldn't get it to come up.

  • @WKHalford lol well hell yea it would have...but they dont weigh much more than the can-ams the can am weighs 669 and the cat weighs 742 and those are the weight comparisons with the 800 and 500 not 800 and 1000 but it says on the site the dry weight for the 1000 is only 716 thats not really enough weight to be making a difference especially since the 500 didnt have enough power just street tires like car tires on it lol look close and you will see

  • @tjwsnt2007 I think the real advantage the Arctic Cat had here was weight. It does weigh more, which helps when pulling against a lighter machine.

But my point to 10renegadex was that what he said about the AC 1000 was a moot point because it was a single cylinder AC 500 pulling the Can Am.

Just imagine if it had actually been an AC 1000 pulling the Can Am. Not only does the 1000 have more power than the 500, but it weighs a lot more. So if anything, the 1000 would do even better.

  • @WKHalford i have a can am and i agree but i think two stock can am 800's and arctic cat 500's is stupid to compare if they both had stock tires the can am would deff pull it ..as far as the 1000 goes there is not a quad out there going to ou t pull it right now unless someone builds a heavy ass diesel 800 or something but i dont think thats going to happen

  • @phrodejo Dude , must be the driver or the tires or somethin .. The Artic cats are a peace of junk ! The 800R beats the 1000AC . nought said .
