This is a video I made with photos and poster art from Bobby and Sandy's second film "If A Man Answers" (1962) with Bobby performing "I Wish I Were In Love Again" live as the background music. I thought it fit with the romantic, battle of the sexes comedy, produced at Universal Studios by Ross Hunter. Chantal Stacy (Sandy) is a young woman in Boston whose French descent through her mother Germaine (Micheline Presle) mixed with her father John's (John Lund) Bostonian principles leads the many young men who buzz around her to take to the hills. When the family moves to New York, Chantal soon sets her sights on playboy photographer Eugene Wright (Bobby), and, quicky winning him over with her charm, marries him but finds that married life has put out the fire. Chantal goes to her mother for guidance, who gives her an owner's manual, if you will, of how to "train" your husband. All goes well until Eugene discovers her secret and once again she must enlist her mother's help in creating a pretend admirer to get her husband's attention back, by way of a ringing phone (if a man answers, hang up, hence the title), and anonymously sent roses. However, Chantal is unaware that Eugene is on to her and is planning a little scheme of his own, resulting in hilarious charades, misunderstandings and hysterical jealousy baiting. Costarring Stefanie Powers as Chantal's glamorous girlhood friend Tina who arouses the herione's envy by flirting with Eugene, and Cesar Romero as Eugene's "dirty old man" artist father Adam, whom Chantal has convienently never met, the stage is set for some engaging and uproarius fun! Enjoy!
Sandra Dee at 0:21 looks a lot like Kate Bosworth!
