This is the polystyrene blower I made from a hair dryer. I'm adding insulation to my house. It's slow but cheap. More info: http://www.myonlinediary.com/wall-insulation/

  • Just use "Leaf Blower/Vacuum" . the one use for the yard. It will be more powerful..

  • @tengchunghuang Yeah - I tried that on a friends house, but had overheating problems. We're now using a air compressor which works much better.

  • This guy's insane... that stuff is highly flammable, get a small fire going, like a short circuit and his house will go FWOOSH.

  • I used fire retardant polystyrene (recycled from the King Kong film sets).

  • @junkymagi Toxic fumes and smoke as it burns, too.

  • @BoogieWithStew The fire retardant polystyrene I use is quite hard to ignite (it doesn't sustain a flame on it's own) and it's inside the wall cavity. So... if the wall is burning enough to ignite the polystyrene - you've more important things to worry about.

  • Oh. I think I am the smart people on the earth. No - there have other smart guy too.

But .. May be you need a "good" Leaf Blower .

I also use it when I cut my boy hair - Blow all the hair out in a second. And my boy are so crazy about those strong wine ..

Question : When you are using the Air compressor - How you can continues "support" enough air for your work. ?

  • love it!

  • It blows insulation (polystyrene balls) into the exterior wall cavities. I did the whole house for under $400.

  • and what does it do???
