AWWWWWWWWWWW! The Good Old Days! Thanks for posting.....sure brought back memories! Yes & the majority of it did happen in Chicago & not too far east of there in South Bend, In. I think this was posted for everyone in every state describing the era we grew up in! LOVED IT!!!!!

Yes, a pretty memorable time, but there certainly weren't any fireflies (1:32)out in Vermont at Christmas and I would doubt in Chicago either. You forgot to mention crouching under our desks at school during air raid warnings and the scare of polio. There is no perfect time you just have to make the best of each and everyday. Lynn (61).

I'm 68 and grew up in Cleveland, Ohio. I remember these things, and I'm grateful that I grew up in such a wonderful era.
