COUGARS of Big Cat Rescue!

We currently have 12 cougars residing at Big Cat Rescue, they are one of the largest cats in North America reaching up to 250lbs. Hear our cougars purr and squeak as we take a walk around the sanctuary.

Did you ever have a Florida panther that you rescued? And was this one able to be rehabilitated?

@ryuslayer We've rescued many cougars, but we have never been called upon to home/rehab an injured Florida Panther. All the cougars in this video except for the three at the end (Ares, Artemis and Orion) were former pets that people no longer wanted or were unable to care for.

@adanilia We rescue them from bad captive situations, they cannot be released into the wild as many people think, the only thing we can do is provide the best life possible in captivity...

They are all absolutely gorgeous but Shadow seemed to stick out to me a lot. Perhaps it was the structure of his head. He seemed very majestic and regal to me. Truly beautiful. Big cats are gifts from god. They are just...magical <3

@BigCatRescue Has there ever been a time when one of the 'BIG CATS' actually fought each other, not just play? Or do they even do that?

@ShootTheZombies In the wild they usually live 10-12 years in captivity this can be doubled because you can give them a good diet and vet care etc... We had one cougar named Scratch that lived to be 29 years old, the oldest cougar that we know of!
