John Redam with Blackwater performing a jam of Brick House by the Commodores at Tulsa County Line (formerly Redneck Kountry and Hall of Fame) in Tulsa/Catoosa, Oklahoma on February 20, 2010. John's playing his white '79 custom Strat through his processing into the loop of his Vai Legacy stack.
This video angle is from behind and to the right of John and his Vai Legacy Combo stack on stage right. Notice how the girls at the front of the stage are having a ball playing the band's different percussion instruments, but just a wee bit out of meter. Plus, there was a girl trying to play the drummer's cymbals and kit, but way out of meter, while he was desparately trying to keep meter and tempo for the band. Made it difficult for the band to stay locked in especially due to the tambourine, cymbals, and cowbell being so loud. Funny.
John engineered and produced many concerts when this venue was Redneck Kountry and Hall of Fame, as well as performing many of the concerts, too. Keith Urban, Emerson Drive, Johnny Lee, Ricky Lynn Gregg, Hank Williams III, Bellamy Brothers, Ricochet, were just some of the many recording artists John engineered and produced here. John opened for the Commodores at Mid-South Coliseum in Memphis, TN, back in the late '70s. A bit of Commodores trivia; did you know that Lionel Ritchie played drums on Brick House, and their drummer sang this mega-hit?
Thanks go out to Marlene, Blackwater's soundperson, for taking the videos.
