I've made a new design for my Model Maglev. It is far more advanced. It will use a 16-Bit Digital Signal Processor: the dsPIC33FJ128GP802-I/SP with 128 kB Flash and 64 kB Memory. I have not studied electrical engineering, so I hope I don't made any mistakes in the design. I will program the chip with the PICKIT 3 programmer from Microchip. Further improvements of the design are the usage of analog magnetic field sensors instead of digital, weight reduction, no Iron core in the coil. Although the last change will reduce the electro-magnet's strength, the coils can now also attract and are lighter without the core, although the power-to-weight ratio will probably diminish. The previous design had 0.4 mm^2 copper-wire coils with each 230 windings. Now I use 0.2 mm^2 copper-wire
with 400 windings per coil.
