  • Very good review, extremely well done and fun to watch! Very informative, I know exactly what to expect from this card. So the reference ZOTAC GTX 580 @ 772MHz core clock does not OVERCLOCK very well? You said you reached around ~830MHz. I've read on forums that some people reach 850-900MHz (over that will require liquid cooling, etc), the ZOTAC cannot reach that high or was something else restricting you from achieving higher clocks?

  • @JohnEliasOnSTEAM never versions of MSI afterburner should allow voltage changes and thats what you needed for higher clocks. At the time of testing there was no voltage changing support for this card (that could be done easily)

  • Can someone tell me the difference between the EVGA GTX580, Zotac GTX580, Nvidia GTX580, Asus GTX 580 ?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

    I'm confused

  • @Xephirox900 if they are all reference design then its just the bios (clock speeds and volts @ stock) that are different. Oh and the all important sticker.

  • I don't understand why people don't like your style of review Tom... I think it's fantastic that someone has the enthusiasm to do it like you, keep it up :')

  • @BenLMitchell thank you very much dude. I cant change really, this is just the way I am

  • Would it be possible to clock it to 1ghz if i use Arctic Cooling Accelero Xtreme Plus II ??.. I mean, can the 1150 volts that msi afterburner allow manage 1ghz?.. I would really appriciate an anwser, PM or something :)

  • WHAT THE FUCK?? i have same card and my vram ''stickers'' are diffrent, they feels like oil and they are grey

  • @FalloutMan493 dude, rule no.1! nvidia gpus run shitty on amd rig, always buy amd gpu on amd rig. I PROMISE that if u buy hd6970 it will perform better in amd rig than 590 :D Look linustechtips btw, there is clear example of that happening

  • @m4ht1sonni I have an Asus Matrix OC 1.1GHz and have had no problems at all. u just had a bad card. Asus is a great company. Would recommend them over Zotac anyday.

  • @m4ht1sonni

Nice, just wanted to know... does it perform significantly better? And do you think you could SLI GTX 580 at those clocks? or would the heat be too much... I'm getting a 800D corsair so there's plenty of room to channel some air flow... and my mobo will have a decent enough spacing to allow SLi

  • @Xephirox900 asus is piece of shit, i bought mine and it broke in one day, now i have zotac and it is fantastic

  • @JohnEliasOnSTEAM dude, i just clocked it to 870mhz core without any problems, 70c temps in load, not bad to 580. i would clock to 900mhz but i heated so much so i left that. but u can if u have like msi twinfrz or aftermarket coolers...

  • Im 21 can i still face palm myself? xD coz i really wana.. lololololol
