@Metaridley92 I got the steam thing because I got a skin for half life, if you notice the background is different, too. and no, not press escape, FINISH it and then go to change game.

@CrveniGavran Wait, then how come the steam loading bar came up when you loaded the game? I have the original and the loading screen is orange with Gordan Freeman standing with a shotgun. Did you mean wait for the training course to end, or to press escape just when I finish? I have a feeling it might be my crappy graphics card in this thing... Thanks for the help though.

@CrveniGavran I guess there is a difference between the steam hl1 and the original hl1. It didn't work at all...lol

@Metaridley92 finish HL1 training course, (save just before you finish so you don't have to do it every time you wanna play the mod) press esc, go to menu, "change game", and select zombie eddition.
that worked for me.
