Point taken. However Jack, is not your God just as subjective as mine? See if you say that my god is subjective, then how on earth can you tell that your god is not?
Not at all! My parents love me, yet they do not always simply do that which makes me happy. Many times punishment IS necessary. However, there's a very grand difference between that sort of punishment, and the overkill of God's wrath. For example, if I told a lie, my parents (who love me) would find that an appropriate punishment would be something along the lines of a time out (or at least they would have if I was 5). But for God, who claims to love us, it is deserving of hell. That's not love.
mf- your concept of god is not my own. God for me is not some thing that bows to my expectations. Whenever you speak of God being cruel you are only referring to the idol you've created not the God I believe in. If you understood this you would see how absurd it is to me when you issue complaints that are based upon your own concept of what god should be and do if indeed your god was real.
I understand your concept of love requires that the person who says they love you never do something to you or allow for something to happen to you that brings you pain or doesn't make you feel good.
It was never the suffering that bothered me. It was that A) God had no reason other than a bet with Satan (which he knew he would win) and B) the fact that when Job asked why all this had been done to him God basically told him that he had no right to question.
What is the problem with subjective perception? Isn't that what matters to the individual?

Hahaha that's where the faith comes in, eh Jack? Well alright.

mf- I'm sure you can figure that out.

mf- your sense of approriate punishment is subjective attempting to apply it to God is absurd.

Job is a great story. I understand people can have a hard time with suffering and God allowing for it to happen. I don't.
