Prompted by the upcoming hearings on "Radical Islam" by the House Committee on Homeland Security, two rallies were held March 6 in New York City, "Today, I Am a Muslim, Too" and Rep. Peter King Supporters. Some 150 organizations were said to be participants in the large rally. Featuring interviews with Daisy Khan, executive director, American Society for Muslim Advancement; Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf, the Cordoba Initiative; Rabbi Marc Schneier, president, The Foundation for Ethnic Understanding; Imam Shamsi Ali, Islamic Cultural Center of New York; the Rev. Dr. Katharine R. Henderson, president, Auburn Theological Seminary; media and fashion mogul Russell Simmons; Pakistani musician and UN goodwill ambassador Salman Ahmad, and the Rev. Chloe Breyer, Interfaith Center of New York. The smaller rally, several blocks away, included Andy Sullivan, founder, 9/11 Hard Hat Pledge.

Muslims are victims of Islam. One more thing, Muslims in the West by majority are far less extreme than their Eastern counterparts. Islam is not a totalitarian belief system, only Islamic Fundamentalism is. Just like how Christian Fundamentalism is a totalitarian belief. Muslims in fact got most of their beliefs from Christianity, including their belief that swine is unclean, and the traditional clothing that their women wear also came from Christianity. And i do understand Islam, i have studied MANY religions.
