Around 1:49, the instrument playing top voice (seemingly) changed from flute to oboe. Am I wrong?

Since the sound is coming from a computer and not a real musical instrument, it's not something you can be wrong about; if it sounds more like a flute than an oboe to you at that point, then it does.

this piece meets the necessities and dynamics of a fugue writing but it is just a plain fugue in my opinion. it lacks, in most general terms, "music" which turns a series of notes into a work of art as done by the classical composers we enjoy listening.
