Jeremimi, I own 60 guns and not one of them has killed since atleast Vietnam. Most since WW2 and none since I've owned them. But I have sat them all down and lectured them on being responsible and that killing is wrong. I'm sure the guns won't kill anymore. Unless I need them too!

Guns kill. So do baseball-bats, hurls, hammers, knives, bricks, bombs, motor-vehicles... No wait, they don't. They have to have somebody using them.

A 14- year-old joyrider would be more likely to kill someone driving than a 40 year-old driver with a licence. Should we ban people from driving cars? No, because that can only punish the people who legally drive them. Like drugs, you can't control or regulate something if you illegalise it.

Criminals don't obey laws.

@jeremimi So do knives, sticks, bare hands, pillows, ropes, rocks, water, long drops with sudden stops, pit bulls, actual bulls, cars, hammers, snow skiing, ninjas (and they don't use guns!), Chuck Norris...

Point is guns ain't the only thing that can kill you or the only thing that someone can use to end someone else's life. Guns are however one of the most effective forms of self defense, and you don't even have to pull the trigger in some cases...
