  • @veryhighsamurai you're half correct. Minor to major is aeolian to Ionian. Not Dorian. But yes, the 3rd, 6th, and 7th are raised to go to major. Because in do based natural minor you lower those three a half step.

Solfege in minor is do re ME fa sol LE TE do

In major it's do re MI fa sol LA TI do

  • Beautiful!!

  • This is the kind of song that makes one glad to be alive!

  • "would you like an apple pie with tha-at? would you like an apple-pie with tha-at?? Ding fries are doneeeeee..."

  • Turn any song into major chords and it will usually always be upbeat and happy. It's pretty amazing.

  • How long did it take you to transpose this?

  • @Germanisme Isn't the 6th and 7th moved up half a step as well to change from ionian to dorian? Is that the same as moving from minor to major or is only the third what really makes the difference?

  • Definitely a different feel than the original. It seems to set off the darkness wintery feeling of the original by gifting the listener with imagery of snowball fights and hot soup.

  • @mwbsmith major. vs minor..

the 3rd is moved up one note instead of being a minor 3rd. in the scale. bam
