CRUISING ON A JONAS BROTHERS LOVE STORY SEQUEL chp 21

[Sarah sat by her friend's bed, watching her heartbeat on the monitor. It had been a mess getting Sheryll out of the building. Her photogs were wailing and Lance couldn't—wouldn't—take in the fact that Sheryll was out. Spectators hung around the building when they saw the stretcher come out. Sarah had called Kevin, Joe and Nick when things had died down somewhat. Sarah enjoyed the silence for a moment, though she wished Sheryll was awake, before Joe burst in]
JOE: [Almost breaking down the door] Sheryll!
[Joe ran to Sheryll's bed, almost tripping on his feet]
JOE: What happened? Did she get into an accident? Is she in a coma? Is she sleeping? Is she breathing? Is she alive?
SARAH: Relax, Joe. She's fine. You should lower you voice though. The doctor said she needs sleep.
NICK: What happened?
SARAH: She fainted during her photo shoot.
KEVIN: What did the doctor say?
SARAH: He said that she needs to rest for a couple of weeks and...
JOE: And what?
SARAH: Well, he said she hasn't been eating much.
NICK: Is she...?
SARAH: Anorexic? No, not yet at least.
JOE: I haven't noticed how little she ate.
KEVIN: That's cause your face is only an inch from your plate whenever you see food.
JOE: Well if you're so smart why don't you—
SARAH: Guys! Guys! Calm down. You might wake her.
NICK: I don't understand why she would do this to herself. She already has a perfect body.
JOE: Have you been checking out my girlfriend, too?
SARAH: [Ignoring Joe's question] I don't think it's intentional. She's been so busy that she hasn't noticed she isn't eating right.
KEVIN: How long has she been like this?
SARAH: A few hours. I called you guys as soon as she was admitted into her own room.
NICK: The media is outside. They saw us coming in.
JOE: I wonder what the headlines will be tomorrow. Joe Jonas's Club-Crashing, Supermodel Girlfriend Turns Anorexic.
KEVIN: Whatever it is, it isn't going to be pretty.
SARAH: [Checking the clock] I actually have to go, but you guys can stay as long as you want.
[Sarah got up and gathered her things]
JOE: Where are you going? The newsroom to give the media the latest gossip?
[Nick's face betrayed the shock he felt, that Joe would accuse Sarah of selling out]
SARAH: Oh so you still think I was the one to give out the photos? As if that girl is worth trusting.
JOE: Did you or didn't you?
NICK: What's all this about?
SARAH: Just for the record, I didn't give out those photos to the media.
JOE: But Gabby—
SARAH: Is a girl you met a just last month. I don't know what I feel more, ashamed that I know you, or disappointed that you don't know me.
[Sarah walked out, tearing up. Why would the accuse her of doing it? She isn't like that]
NICK: Sarah wait.
[Nick came out of the hospital room to follow her]
NICK: Sarah, I'm sorry about Joe.
[Sarah tried to wipe her eyes before Nick could see them]
SARAH: You know what, it's not a big deal.
NICK: At least let me make it up to you.
SARAH: Maybe next time. I've got a test tomorrow that I need to study for.
NICK: Oh ok. I'll talk to you later?
SARAH: Yeah.
[Sarah walked into the elevator and let the door close between her and Nick. All Nick could think of was how much of an idiot Joe had been to take Gabby's word]
[When Nick walked back to the room, he heard three voices]
JOE: How are you feeling?
SHERYLL: Ok, I guess.
KEVIN: Does anything hurt?
SHERYLL: No, not really.
JOE: Are you hungry? We can get you a cheeseburger, or a double cheeseburger.
SHERYLL: [Laughing] I'm not really in the mood to eat.
JOE: Ok then later.
[Nick walked in the room and he saw Sheryll sitting upright]
NICK: Hey, how are you?
SHERYLL: [Smiling] I'm fine. Why does everyone keep asking me that? I just fainted cause I didn't get enough sleep. I'll be ready for that photo shoot in an hour.
JOE: You can't. The doctor said you have to rest for a while.
SHERYLL: How long is a while?
KEVIN: A couple of weeks.
SHERYLL: I don't have weeks to waste sitting down.
KEVIN: You have to, or you won't get any better.
SHERYLL: I'm fine.
[Joe turned to Kevin and Nick]
JOE: Do you guys think I can talk to her alone?
NICK: Sure. We'll meet you at the house, ok?
JOE: Yeah that's cool.
[Kevin and Nick hugged Sheryll goodbye and Big Rob escorted them to the car]
JOE: Sheryll, I know you haven't been eating.
SHERYLL: What are you talking about? Of course I eat.
JOE: Yeah, but not enough.
SHERYLL: You think I'm anorexic?
JOE: No, but you might become one.
SHERYLL: Joe, I just haven't had time to eat, but I do whenever I can.
JOE: Just promise me you'll eat at least 8 times a day.
SHERYLL: 8? Do you want me to become a sumo wrestler?
JOE: Sure, why not?
SHERYLL: How about 3 full meals doctor?
JOE: Ok, 3 meals, and a kiss.
[Sheryll had to laugh at that]
