  • (lyric 1)

    Birds come flying.

Birds of all species come flying.

There is a phoenix in birds.

There is a harvest bird before Gate of Long Life.

Mountain stands high and valley is deep.

    Nobody lives there.

    Trees stand and birds fly.

    (To be continued...)

  • Many birds mate each other at flower-field in the country.

They come and go in couple.

    That Sugkuk bird sings.

    Sing~ sing~ sing~ it sings.

When I go to this mountain, I can hear "Sugkuk, Sugkuk".

When I go to that mountain, I can hear "SugSugkuk, Sugkuk".

    Ahah~

    Ehih~

    Ehih, ehih, ehih, ihih, ehih.

While singing, they come and go around.

  • (lyric 2)

    A cheerful bird sings.

    That nightingale sings.

Where is a pretty bird going?

Where is a cute bird going?

    (To be continued...)

  • I don't understand the meaning of bird-singing.

I can only say that they are singing.

When I go to this mountain, I can hear "Koekgol, Koekgol".

When I go to that mountain, I can hear "Koekoegol, Koekgol".

    Ahah~

    Ehih~

    Ehih, ehih, ehih, ihih, ehih.

While singing, they come and go around.

  • @alberthepooh I think so too. I guess this is Trot music? Anyone know how old Trot is or what was before it? Arirang?

  • So glad I found this, thank you!

  • Korean folksong, Sae Taryeong, Song of Birds, or Bird Song is fabulous. Its melodic inflection is totally unexpected, dancing motives suddenly changing to expansive melodic lines that release listeners' emotions, spirits soaring into lofty sky. This style is unique to Korean folksongs. One never encounters such folksongs in other countries. You hardly need to understand words. Music is self-explanatory. Arirang genre, in particular, releases one's emotion totally, Kim Serena is excellent.

  • @NoweSytuacje That's right! :)

  • My God, he's Polonaise (Polonez), Polish traditional rhythm!

    Greetings to Korea!

  • The music is somehow related to Tungus people (imho)~~

  • unique
