Moving in Circles (UK) performing HipHopScotch at Breakin' Convention 2011, Sadler's Wells Theatre.
With its tongue firmly in its cheek and its 'bling' safely in its sporran, HipHopScotch is an uplifting celebration of both Hip Hop and Scottish cultures - two forms of social heritage which may seem worlds (and times) apart.
Yet history has taught us that poverty and oppression often culminate in
innovation and creativity - a testament to the human spirit; music, dance and celebration are just beneath the surface of all who have struggled.
This extract from HipHopScotch sees two b-boys meeting two highland dancers at a ceilidh where the beats lean more to the funky side. Think Strip the Willow with back-flips and head-spins - are you with me? Cos' things are about get a bit HipHopScotch!
Moving In Circles is largely recognised for producing Scotland's biggest breakdance competition, Castle Rocks Breakdance Championships along with Set It Off Street Dance Championships.
With Hip-Hop firmly at its heart, it also produces performances and represents several dance groups and companies as an agency.
