VANCOUVER, Wash. Watch out! The Crimson Bullet Mark II could soon be taking over the streets of Vancouver. A team of Washington State University students, named Kryptonite, is building a vehicle to race in the 2010 ASME Human Powered Vehicle Competition. The event is hosted by the American Society Of Mechanical Engineers in Northridge, Calif.

The goal of the competition is to to demonstrate the application of sound engineering design principles in the development of sustainable and practical transportation alternatives.

Senior mechanical engineering major Tim Snyder said the vehicle is using a new system of turning and balance, while remaining durable through its steel structure.
