This isn't a Muscle Shoals song but in March of 1983, ARS lead singer Ronnie Hammond joined forces with a local band called Trace. They performed several shows at the old Cliffhanger Club on the bluffs of the Tennessee River before going out on the road. They sounded great and Hammond's vocals were awesome. "I Ain't Much" is my favorite ARS song so here it is. It was written by 2 Alabamians, the legendary songwriter Buddy Buie and J.R. Cobb who also plays rhythm guitar along with Alabama born Dean Daughtry on keyboards. Also has one of THE BEST guitar solos of all time by Barry Bailey.

  • Hey, original ARS vocalist Rodney Justo and bassist Paul Goddard have rejoined the band, and they're touring to promote their new album "With All Due Respect". J.R. Cobb will be sittin in with them when they play in Dothan, AL on August 20. Ronnie was chosen to replace Rodney because he sounded just like him

  • @ARSLive That's great news and Goddard kicks major butt on bass!

  • This is one of my favorite songs by ARS. This is some of the best music ever recorded. I am a ARS fan back to 1974. I was first introduced ARS to all my music friends. Still love it......
