Don't wait to get in a band is almost as good advise as learning chords. I played for 13 years before joining a band and I've learned more in the last seven vs the first thirteen.

this guitar is called Noupaul made by Taku Sakashta.
he was killed 02/18/10 by Joshua Begley.
Taku was a great builder and a great guy.....

Such a tragic thing. I saw Robben gig with this guitar and it sounded awesome.

Yea, I'm in college now but I get so much knowledge whenever I'm on the bandstand...

Taku Sakashta was MURDERED by Begley. In the most cold blooded way. To say he was "killed" leaves much to the imagination.

The man speaks truth. Ask me, I've learned more in six months of being in a band than 3 years on my own. And people notice, trust me.

Playing by yourself in your bedroom is a sure fire way to be a very boring and inexperienced player. Until you've played with drums, bass, and a singer, you don't understand the dynamics of sharing music with other people. That's what music is all about too, since it is a language after all. If you stay in your bedroom, you're basically inventing your own language that other people won't understand. Most of those bedroom shredders also never play chords or rhythm -- a huge disadvantage

I agree. I started playing at 15 and joined a band less than a year later. Hell of a learning curve, but pushed me past all the bedroom players real quick.

Self taught that's pretty amazing. I really like his style and phrasing.

Robben reminds me that I suck. Truth. The words "you suck" literally come out of his amp every time he plays.
