John Shiurba leads a large ensemble in another realization of the late Matthew Sperry's composition Treasure Mouth. Sperry's score calls for a band to follow along to lyrics as fast as they can be written out by others — call it improv karaoke. In this performance, local author/artist Beth Lisick was the writer and the vocalists of country folk band Loretta Lynch sang the lyrics.
Recorded live at the Luggage Store Gallery in San Francisco on June 4, 2009 as part of the 7th annual Matthew Sperry Memorial Festival, presented by Outsound's New Music Series.
