@booocky I have nic boa shes never hissed once but I see how aggressive others can be

I have tamed some mean snakes before. Mostly wild ones. Him being pissed off could mean he is sick, or just territorial. Use gloves and something around your arms. Fortunately these boas are not as fast as something like a bullsnake. Those meanies are more of a challenge to tame. I've found for every snake you just gotta wear protective covering and handle it consistently. I can't say the same for thermal sensing snakes, since when you take the gloves off it will see the heat your hand gives off

really hoping you meant 4-5 years...since your profile says you are 31.

ur not supposed to feed a boa in his habitat retard!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ive had boas for 45 years. when u take him out of the tank he will be temperamental at one point............do ur research!!!!!!!!!!

if you tap them on the nose it snaps them out of it. lets them know that you're stronger and more threatening. works with my boas every time.

im gettin one of them soon :)

i would just put my hand in and grab it... its going to bite you eventuly the more you avoid it the longer you wont touch it.

My nic did that too at first. She was really wild for the first week and bit me once and struck a million times. All you have to do is hold them and let them get accustomed. When mine was aggressive I threw a sock over her and got her out that way. She's awesome now and she's still only about 4 months old. But yeah you shouldn't be taunting it like that. It's kinda cruel.
Hes gonna bite you reguardless. You back away from him everytime he puffs up and starts hissing. So his tactics of scaring you away are working he will keep doing it. Tapping on the glass and pissing him off are not ways of taming him down any. Only way you can tame him is to take the bite and get him out. Dont flinch or put him away when he bites just keep being gentle. Nicaraguan boas are mean because people buy them on impalse because they hear they stay small and keep then put up for hissing

my BF has only been bitten by him 3 times in six months and that because he had a rat in hand...we own 10 other snakes besides him...I think we know how to handle them...one of our snakes is 8 and a half foot long and a pussycat...he was actinglike that because there were 5 people ouround his enclosure and it was feeding time

my daughter tapped on the glass because that was the first time she heard him hiss... we take him out on a regular basis...he may hiss and pull back at first but once you get him out he is fine...

This snake is only like this while he is still in his enclosure...take him out and he is fine...it isn't his fault that he hadn't been handled much...his previous owners didn't pay him much attention to him...we'll get him more tame...just takes time...and how would you feel if some strange creature was invading your space?...you might get aggressive too
