Akuma finally gets the tribute he deserves!

-----------

This flash was an Easter Egg that I made using two of the supporting cast from the upcoming third episode of the VG EXILES. It became too big to actually include in VGE3, so I separated it and fully produced it as a separate movie. I present it now as an appetizer before the main VGE3 dish is served. I hope to have that out soon.

As for Episode 3, I spoke with 3X a few weeks ago and he estimates that the artwork is 80% drawn. While there is still that 20% to be drawn and lots of Photoshop processing to be done, he seemed very optimistic about the possibility of having the artwork completed by the end of November.

Hopefully, I'll be able to make that ARTWORK for December. Keep your fingers crossed.

Now, on to the point...

Generally speaking, I'm not big on Easter Eggs. If I animate something that I want people to watch, what sense does it make to hide it where only a small number of viewers will see it? The way I see it, if it's good enough to be in the main movie, put it in the main movie. If it's not good enough, then don't bother showing it at all. That has so far been my policy.

A few months ago, I broke from that policy. I had just finished the choreography section and was in the mood to do a little more action. Ep. 3 features several characters from the MK and SF worlds and it seemed a shame to not explore some of the match-up possibilities. That said, I decided that I would animate an Easter Egg showing what would happen if two members of the supporting cast were to meet on the field of battle.

I kept adding stuff to this section and suddenly realized that it had inflated the file size too much to be included in Episode 3. So, instead of hiding it somewhere in Ep. 3, I separated it, fully produced it, and made it into a standalone movie. You could call it a "mini" MK vs SF.

I was hesitant to release it because I feared spoiling the involvement of certain characters (and still do). However, I feel that I should give you guys SOMETHING to reward all of the patient waiting that you have done. So, I have decided to release this VGE3 Easter Egg to the public. It's not a full-length fight and I'm not expecting any awards/front pages for it, but I believe that most of you will appreciate it. I plan to release it around noon (EST) on Wednesday, November 3rd.

I hope you like explosions and screaming!

  • @9R1665 k, well, in the OVA, Evil ryu, who has the same powers as akuma, only weaker, was shot at by bullets. they bounced off... & Akuma's skin is tough enough to punch through submarines(SF3), and survive in VOLCANOS, IN THE LAVA(ssf4), i doubt guns from the likes of Stryker would even phase him...

  • @TheBloodedge92 Don't compare the anime to flash, it's a multi-universe thing. This Akuma is not the same one you see in the original street fighters.

  • i'll take MK bias over SF bias any day. Prioxide's a good animator, but portraying Scorpion and Raiden as evil idiots isn't the best story decision. Plus, it's not faithful.

  • @R1665 in a fighting game, anybody can beat anybody. You can understand why I and some others don't follow that chain of logic that any lesser character can canonically defeat a character that is supposed to be more powerful than them. Like despite Ryu or any character beating Akuma, Akuma still KO's Bison and is supposed to be undefeated for most of the SF series.

  • @Momentum139 I would have to disagree with the gist of your comment. To assume that any character in a fighting series is well and beyond the capacity of being beaten by "normal" men is to ignore the source game. Akuma and Bison may be godly monsters in a cartoon, but the source games set an entirely different standard. In the game, they can be beaten by "lesser" people such as Sakura, Dan, Makoto, or anybody else in the roster. That's the standard I use, not the anime one.

  • @R1665 at the very least, if it's not MK bias, I would predict that most Akuma figures have some level of skill that goes beyond being overwhelmed by a human with a gun.

That said, it's a f-cking easter egg, so saying that it should be taken as canon just as much as Stryker wasting M. Bison in an epic showdown is silly. Even if it is, it's meant for comic relief. I'd like to think that the alternate Stryker is just powerful and that the creator isn't just a biased MK fan.

  • @UBOYINPA except for Raiden, Shao Kahn, Liu Kang, Taven, Daegon, Cyber Sub Zero, Sindel from the reboot, Nightwolf... Freddy... Kratos...

    ...need I go on?

  • Lol cute but akuma would own just about any mk character real talk and I'm a mk fan

  • :P haha

  • LOL finally!

  • Release Date Coming out NEVER!!!

  • LOL
