For more than 25 years, Georgetown students in the DC Schools Project have helped Washington, D.C. immigrant children and their families learn English and adjust to American culture. An example of living the Jesuit ideal of being men and women for others, hundreds of students tutor and mentor young children and their families once a week through the program. The DC Schools Project is one of many community-based efforts coordinated by the Center for Social Justice, Research and Teaching.
a very helpful program to decrease the effect of culture shock specially to children. Continue your goodness!

This is a great program and the students will be both challenged and fulfilled in this work. I am a cross-cultural coach and also help immigrants, expats, international students and their families to adjust to culture and help with American English conversation...so I completely can relate to the tutors challenges and victories in doing this much needed work. Thank you!
