the curse of the beeping Mac

2 month old, cutie little MacBook...BEEPS for no apparent reason (without anyone touching it)...any "genious-es" out there? (beeps are at 4 secs, 26 secs and 54)

nope, Mac doesn't do that :-) It was the harddrive. And apparently the beep is a warning sound saying that there is a harddrive problem.

the macBook needed a new hard disk which was replaced by the Apple store...

If it does this after a long period of running time with little or no "rest" it may be an over-heat warning. Check if the vents are clogged with dirt and debris, and if neccesary clean them. It also may be a hard drive warning-like it's detecting intermittent "drop-outs" of some kind, triggering that beeping noise

its the hdd its failing backup quick + get it replaced

try it from the dvd that comes with the mac

its like morse code. Write down how many beeps there are and look it up on the manual. It will tell u whats wrong
