@matiyallegra you're in denial if you say Gilbert plays with no feeling
-
Neal must have thought he saw Lennon there for a moment.
-
Paul Gilbert have the technique, but George Harrison have the FEELING. I like both.

@ForViewingOnly yeah its the second position on the ibanez five way super switch with the volume rolled off pretty low. if you watch his hendrix tribute stuff thats on youtube or i believe his dimarzio pickup advertisement video on here with the orange rg he explains the tone. Its the split coil and regular single coil sound blending out of phase and the pickup configuration is HSH

Haters gonna hate. This is a great tribute to a great band, you can enjoy the music and stop hatin' or you can be a hater. Up to whatever your twisted mindset tells you.

Does anybody know if Paul is using some kind of effect on his guitar to get that jangly Rickenbacker sound, or if it's all the in EQ? Whatever it is, it sounds really good.
Yeah, these musical studs took time out of their schedules to play bullshit because the Beatles had no influence on them whatsoever. Play some old Beatles and I think you'll get it down that their arrangements were ingenious. I'm a shredder and I still love them, but I love classical and bluegrass too. You will never be a great musician if you can't learn from other styles of music and, if you love metal, keep in mind that the music you love would not be around if it wasn't for the Beatles.

first of all, paul gilbert is probably one of the most humble shred guitarists out there and secondly if you can't see the humour in that comment then you have problems.
george harrison was a great guitarist, but paul gilbert at a technical level is far better than him and i doubt george would have said otherwise.
