Canadian professional ice hockey player.
The 2009/10 ice hockey season was an amazing year for international hockey star Steven Stamkos. The first overall selection in the 2008 NHL Entry draft, Stamkos finished the previous season with an All-Star performance at the 2009 IIHF World Championships in Switzerland.
The new ice hockey season saw Stamkos, #91, continue that form into the NHL season becoming a consistent scorer in the league with goals and assists.
Steven's form continued throughout the season and, despite his team not making the playoffs, Stamkos finished the season at the joint top goal scorer in the NHL, with a total of 51 goals in 82 games. In achieving the mythical 50 goals in a season, Steven became the 3rd youngest player ever to achieve this feat, putting him in auspicious company behind NHL Legends Wayne Gretzky and Jimmy Carson.
As the 2010 hockey season draws to a close, Steven has been selected to represent Team Canada at the IIHF World Championships in Germany in May.
The smile at the end just killed me. Love him.
