Parking at the Hall of Horrors trailhead I do some scrambling along the granite outcrops. I have a look at some of the mountains and the different rocks they are made from

  • @SandJsTravels Absolutely, that's why I love going to the deserts and the American West. If you take a look at Utah, it is so different to anything available to me near here - the rocks, the colours, the vegetation, all completely different. I doubt I could live in one, but deserts are great to visit

  • If you want to see a desert scene in England, we recommend the vast china clay quarries near St.Austell, Cornwall. They are like the surface of the moon. Most of them are disused and accessible. Google Earth shows them quite well.

  • @DStaniforth Yeah, I would love to visit one at some point. I could get a lot of amazing pictures!
