First, it is an enormous logical fallacy to make sweeping generalizations about an entire population of 320 million people, in a nation whose cultures and people vary so much that it could be split up into multiple countries. There are dumb people everywhere, thus there are dumb people in America. These dumb people are weeded out of interviews of hundreds of individuals to gather 10-15 of the less sharp ones to air on television. Simple and you fall for it.
