I've heard that Just For Laughs Gags is popular programming on international flights, because it requires no understanding of language, or even sound.

@lemonrind That's the reason these programmes get made - they're not actually funny but all they have to do is repackage the titling and they can sell it all over the world. JFLG is Canada's number one tv export of all time. The "creator" left it and started his own generic gag show which you see in Food Courts airplanes etc. It's all about money for this kind of comedy - which we felt was deserving of a pillow smothering
