Third Wave: the March for Women's Lives

On April 25, 2004, over 1.15 million men and women from 50 states and over 60 countries gathered on The Mall for the largest march in DC history. The marchers' concerns included choice, justice, access, health care, abortion, family planning, and the respect for global human rights.
While conservative forces have galvanized around the evangelical Christian and anti-abortion agenda, a large, diverse and progressive women's movement has grown in opposition. This "Third Wave" marks a new generation of women's advocacy and organizing in the United States, which addresses issues of sexuality, cultural diversity, human rights, and social and economic justice.

1.) most women that have abortions are on a form of birth control.

2.) humans are sexual creatures, and they are, by design, going to have sex. how about focusing on teaching our country how to adequately protect themselves instead of this "just don't do it" approach, which clearly doesn't work (areas that have a high percentage of schools teaching abstinence-only also have the highest teen pregnancy and std rates).

also, kudos to the kids that attended this march on 4/25/2004. They speak for women and all of the women there are anywhere from a good seven to 60 years older than those kids.

I agree that the far right has a fascist agenda.

Also, the ONLY people who are for less government is pro-choicers.

Oh and yeah, this is STILL the largest rally in the history of DC protests.
