You are such a good teacher. I really envy your students. =]

It's very well explained I think, it could almost be the very first lesson for a student after learning how to hold bow and instrument :)

I have a question of curious nature: are gettato and ricochet the same technique or is there a difference?

Greetings Professor Ehle! What order would you recommend the bow strokes to be taught in...? (after just regular straight bowing, of course)

Fantastic lesson. Ricochet was killing me on the Mendelssohn E minor and the Intro & Rondo Cap. You're helping me figure it out!

can you do 49-55? I REALLY need those. Especially 49.

Could you tell me the difference between ricochet bowing and Bariolage bowing?
TidusJRStrife 1 year ago
Here is a description I copied from violinomline: 'Bariolage is a French term which means an “odd mixture of colors,” and directs the string player to achieve a contrast in tone colors by playing on different strings. An example of barriolage is when the same note is played, alternating between open strings and stopped strings, or by playing a repeated passage, oscillating between two, three, or four strings. Fingering is often used to indicate bariolage.'
