U dont think its race thats the main driving force here...i suggest u go to other guinness estates in london at look at how they are maintained...the brixton estate was run into the ground...either it was purpose or accident. no other guinness estates look like that. 95% blacks on the brixton estate ... ethnic cleansing!

Hope the community get what they need and there voices are heard, full support of the people not the corporates.

This aint a race thing.. Make sure to watch: Summer On The Estate.
(About the old Kingshold Estate in Hackney - Now demolished)
Its here on youtube.
The 'Corporation' had families living and dying undetected in asbestos hazard flats.
The 'Corporation' does NOT care about, listen to, or feel for the poor misguided folk who voted it in. That much has been proven again and again.
Withhold all support, i say.
Still, good luck Rashid.. Spiritual Soldier.

"Supporting your group with a venue is counter-productive to our aims". That statement alone could be used against the Guinness Trust. It's a very stupid and revealing statement to post on a message board.

it is mainly black estate, black people do not fight or give up,this is the reason why it has allowed the management to get away with, even though it is mixed estate, it cannot be done in certain communities they would have got up and be heard, it would be in the news by now about the treatment. please lets face reality.
I assume by the non response to my earlier question - Did you ask Guinness Trust to appear in Nine Stories In Brixton to give their side of the story? - that the answer is no.

@fan7a If you read the blurb in the description under the video, you will see that 9 stories is described as a; "residents tale". If Guinness Trust want to respond with a video, they are free to do so, and I look forward to seeing it.

I think People have got this race issue wrong, the estate is predominantly black, what the person is saying is if this was a predominantly white Estate and few black people they would have fought for the rights it would have been in the News, but the issue is black people do not get up to fight they give up or cant be bothered this has allowed the landlord to treat the residents badly, whether they are black or White, so the person who has lived on the estate for 35 years need not be in denial.

GUINESS PUNCH! Great film. The Landlord should be taking proper channels to conduct full consultation around the redevelopment particularly if they are changing the mix of tenure in the area.
Contact Clapham Park NDC's Resident Assoc. who went through similar issues to you to find out how they addressed problems, get your local councilllor on board before Guinness buy them off with positions of power on a 'new' Res Assoc., and get Ken involved as part of his campaign for the mayoral elections!
