there's a girl i used to date used the very beggining of this song as her alarm clock.. of course i'm dying of love sickness about her now and will die loving her. i think that will be my way to be greateful to her for introducing me to this.. i love elliott smith very very much!

i just learned this on guitar with the exception of the everybody knows part still have to get the timing down on that part but i pretty much have it down and it is so much fun to play once you get the hang of it! really beautiful song elliott never ceases to amaze/frusturate me with his music and lyric writing skills

right like at a lot of his shows he'll ask what song they wdant to hear an some dumbass guy yells 'free bird', and that bitch at the beginning yelling" i bet you lose" just pisses me off . wish i could of been there to slap some dumb asses and watch this great song played by the great elliott smith.. everybody knows we only live a day
