  • The comment in the middle exists because youtube wont let you edit content, and I changed the domain name for my site after I produced the video. Didn't want to loose all of the views by posting a new video.

  • The machine is a rack and pinion model. The spring on the side of the spindle is counteract the weight of the Z Axis. So, it assists the Z Axis motor, as well as holds the Z axis up when you shut off the machine.

  • This machine is a Shopbot PRT Alpha 48" x 96" CNC machine.

  • What is that spring near the spindle for ? To eliminate backshlash on Z axe or to help motor to raise the spindle or ?
