The tester Sailor Moon promo reel

When DiC and Bandai USA pitched their plans for a translated and dubbed Sailor Moon for the US TV market at NATPE (North American Television Programming Exhibition), this clip is what they decided would best help sell their idea to TV stations...

Notice the really screwed up choices of names they have for the characters (before things got finalized), really bad sound effects and cheesy presentation. From what I can tell, it was almost a miracle they won the license.

What the hell were they thinking? I mean, changing the names in the first place was annoying, but...Blue? That's freakin' hilarious. Thank goodness they came to their senses. At least the name "Serena" fits in with the story somewhat. You know, the whole "Queen Serenity" thing.
