I don't think it's necessarily about abortion, More like pregnancy. I was pregnant when this song came out in1984 AND YA I felt in trouble.Who wouldn't? 18, no home, no family,Yes, I was in trouble and scared to death. Like the song says, "She takes care of business, keeps a cool head". I learned it wasn't the end of the world, I had to keep a cool head and take care of myself for nine months. 27 years later my beautiful daughter also loves this song and it has the same meaning for us. : )
