  • I decided to run an Arcanum: Steamworks and Magicka Obsura style rpg for my group and had been searching for a good d20 steampunk book to use for mechanics and someone mentioned this book. I was pleased to find you had a review of it! Do you feel this would mash up well with say pathfinder rules?

  • @TheSeventhZombie I think is is doable but it might take some work. You best bet might be to use the Pathfinder system and this book as an add-on. Giving it a read will help you judge that for sure.

  • what are all of the different Steampunk games you own?

  • @swinebread Sorcery & Steam, OGL Steampunk, Iron Kingdoms, GURPS Steampunk, Deadlands Reloaded, Victoriana. Those are the ones I can think of off the top of my head.

  • I think this game was under rated, it got lost in the pile of D20 stuff that came out.

I like it, but it seems slightly more complicated than a typical D20 set.

Could be because of the new Psychic rules, spell creation and invention.

Steep learning curve with careful DM guidance.

I would love to see it streamlined or adapted to Pathfinder.

Or I could use the ideas for a simpler game like BESM or D6 Adventure/Fantasy.

  • @RealNemo235 I think you could do a credible version with Savage World. There may even already be a steampunk SW setting.

  • @tetsubo57 A compare and contrast between these books would be great...

...when you have lots of time that is. ;)

I like Sorcery & Steam quite a bit myself but OGL steampunk sounds rather fun

  • I just make the videos, it is for others to comment. :)

Yeah, I mine all sorts of things for ideas.

  • What, no comments here? Your videos deserve a lot more attention...

Pretty interesting book, I like steampunk settings a lot. Generally I tend to gather ideas and inspiration from different systems and make custom settings and (mostly quite minimalistic) rules.
