This is taken from film captured during first Tierra Del Sol Desert Safari's starting in 1967. This is the famous Truckhaven area near the Salton Sea. The Desert Safari is a huge annual event held the first weekend in March and has grown into one of the largest in the country. This is rare footage of the very start of the grand event. More videos to come as time permits. Hope you enjoy this little snippet of history.

this is back when wheelin wasnt taken so seriously, when it was acceptable to have some one jump on hte jeep for some extra balast. those days need to come back.

@mazdaboygenius I have 4 others up now if you have not checked them out. Looking for more old 8mm to transition. Keep the history alive. Heck I still have a 72 FJ40 so I feel like i am in the middle of the pack
