My Review
This is an honest review of Modern Warfare 3
The campaign is shorter and more linear than ever with very few memorable moments and is filled with reused assets from previous Call of Duty games. The entire campaign felt like it was directed by Michael Bay since there's explosions at every turn and the story is nothing memorable, not like it matters since no one plays Call of Duty games for their "amazing" story. Since the campaign only lasts you a couple of hours and is not worth replaying, it leaves you with the same old Special Ops mode and the "critically acclaimed" multiplayer
The multiplayer is the exact same thing as previous installments with only a few new guns, a few new game types that no one will play, a couple new kill streaks and a few tweaked perks. The multiplayer maps focus more on close quarters combat since they're more tightly packed and smaller, but that just causes everyone to camp inside buildings and spray and pray.
If you're having issues with killing noobs and ranking up they have tokens for people that wasted their time on other call of duty titles to buy double XP, extra classes, and other bonuses. You also could just buy your way to the highest rank since all you have to do is just buy bags of Doritos or bottles of Mountain Dew to get Double XP points which is going to make America's obesity problem even worse. If that's not enough you could just buy their overpriced Call of Duty service called Elite that claims to make you a better player
Call of Duty Elite can be bought at a price of $50 a year and it's just another way they're milking the call of duty franchise for all it's worth. I find it ridiculous that they're charging you $50 a year for a service to compare your stats with other players, get tips from there so called professionals, and new features that all other game companies provide for free.
The call of duty community is still filled with obnoxious little kids that threaten to hack you and annoying teenagers swearing and making racist comments against other players for no damn reason. I really don't understand why anyone would buy this game for its multiplayer since it's the exact same game from 2007 and it's community will always stay the same, but if you're not a multiplayer person, there's always special ops to look forward to!
It's too bad that Special Ops mode can only support up to 2 players and it only has 2 game modes
They brought back the mediocre Special Ops mode from Modern Warfare 2 where you have to complete various missions for stars and it feels like an expansion pack since it feels and plays the exact same way as its predecessor. If you're looking for something "new", there's survival mode that tried to make this game worth playing
The addition of survival mode was the only thing that I found was "good" about this game. Modern Warfare 3's survival mode is your typical firefight mode with some interesting new additions. It features a level system, plenty of scenarios to choose from, and a currency/shopping system that is overall better in every way than Treyarch's system for their zombie mode
If I was forced to give this pathetic excuse of a game a rating, it would have to be 0 out of 5 stars because I find it quite pathetic that these companies are making so many profits off of a game that has not improved much or innovated anything new since Call of Duty 4 and that even though they make millions off of this terrible series, they still have the nerve to charge $50 for a service that other game companies do for free. If you actually think that Call of Duty is a good game series, I just hope that one day that you will come to your senses and play a real game
I was playing this game and killing myself because of the swearing dudes and boring same stuff untill I tried Halo : Reach. MW3 is not even close to Reach !!
