****Edit January 14, 2011**** Well... Wivenhoe Dam reached 190% (!!) during the great flood of 2011. Unfortunately because it was full, it's powers were limited and unable to stop Brisbane from nearly experiencing another flood of 1974 proportions. If we didn't have it, this could have been the highest city flooding in history. Nevertheless, thousands of homes, business and people have been affected, and many have been killed and injured. My thoughts go out to those who have lost friends and loved ones.
Wivenhoe Dam supplies the city of Brisbane, Australia its drinking water. When I created this video, it was at 18% capacity and continuing to drop.

lol at the weird sound at 0:11 when we watched this in class for a school assignment, we couldn't stop laughing at that sound. our teacher said it sounded like a chicken getting its head cut off haha

How about a new vid since all the rain especially over xmas/new year? is any of this "cyclone" rain getting out there?

Not for a while yet... when I made this, Wivenhoe was at 18% capacity. Now it's at 17%!
Somerset Dam (the next dam) is the one that's gone up significantly - now at 52% after being down to about 24%. We really need some more falls in the Wivenhoe catchment. On the Gold Coast, Hinze Dam is now overflowing after being below 60% just a few weeks ago.
I really hope Wivenhoe doesn't keep missing out on this seemingly excellent wet season!!
