The title means "Fine Are the Winds of Kohala." The song describes the natural beauty of the Kohala district on the island of Hawai`i in a fond remembrance of time shared with a loved one.

This melody from the 19th century has often been played at a brisk tempo and given the title "Kohala March," but this slower interpretation has been popular since it was done by Sunday Manoa in 1969.

I'm presenting a musical "Aloha Friday" at the plaza in Downtown Pleasant Hill, California through the summer. This video was shot on July 24, 2009, with with a Flip Mino HD and uses camera sound.

  • Ahhh!

    So nice!!!

But the recording took off all of the bass!!!

    I love it though!

    Great playing!

  • I'm sorry for the quality of the recording. The only video I was able to use from that day was the Flip Mino HD and its camera sound. I messed everything else up.

Thanks for the kind words anyway!
