What a great film this is... And this clip gives away big parts of it so IF YOU DON'T WANT TO BE SPOILED, STAY AWAY!

I was talking about it the other day and I realised I had to put together some of my favourite dialogues. It was difficult to try and put them all in some context so they'd be fully appreciated! I don't think I succeed on that, but it's still worthy, if just for Maggie Smith's fantastic English ;)

Maggie Smith is terrific (isn't she always?) as the teacher Miss Brodie. Pamela Franklin is amazing as one of her students, Sandy. Robert Stephens is Teddy, the art teacher and Celia Johnson plays the head mistress of the school for girl, Miss Mackay.

  • I LOVE this movie! People don't know what they're missing if they haven't seen it!!!

  • Dame Maggie giving all she's got in one of the four (stage) roles for females that approaches Shakespearean dimension. The others - and many would disagree, Hedda Gabler, Madame Rose (Gypsy) and Susan Trehearne in "Plenty".

Jean Brodie is astounding, and Smith gave such a forceful, camp, and ultimately pathetic spin to her.

  • haha Brilliant..I love Miss Brodie !! watching this for inspiration..I've got a part as her for my acting exam Woohoo its fun acting her cause she's so melodramatic xD

  • ....4:15, she thinks to intimidate me by the use of quarter hours.......LOL

  • @Trickroad so what? who cares? you think I like Freddie Mercury?, just looked at your channel, look's like your trying to call everybody's nation retarded, where do you come from? must be from heaven or another planet if it's so much better than every other country on the planet. you know what else?....you started this by saying British accent sound's retard (you forgot the "ed" it's retarded) they have Scottish accent's in the video! Scott's are independant, but why would you know that?
