Of course it's been happening for thousands of years but Darwin blessed its' existence. There's a banished but simplistic technology that never throws the heat energy away as a waste product The reason we don't see it is that it is "outlawed" or "tabbooed". It's a business thing AKA monopoloy of fuel-enforced usage. The bad end user technology is the one we are forced to use. Short of being an engineer the reason the one that throws away not energy is better is because it uses much less and would be the preferred end user tech. It would bust up the monopoly.
